On June 3, 2023, in Oradea, for the first time in Romania, the 10th edition of the European Tramdriver Championship will take place. 25 teams from 19 countries are expected to compete in this edition. As the host, the team of tramdrivers from Oradea will compete with the teams from Hanover (title champion), Barcelona, Basel, Berlin, Bordeaux, Brussels, Debrecen, Dresden, Dublin, Florence, Gothenburg, Kiev, Kosice, Leipzig, Malaga, Nuremberg, Oslo, Prague, Rotterdam, Stockholm, Szeged, Vienna, Warsaw and Zagreb. The training will take place on Friday, June 2, 2023, in the Salca depot and on the tram transport network. Trials within the competition will take place on Saturday, June 3, 2023, between 10:00  and 16:00, in Piața Unirii. The awards ceremony will take place, on the same day, at 17:00. The competition is divided into 6 tests named generically: "Perfect Stop", "Emergency Braking", "Lateral Distance", "TRAM-bowling", "TRAM-billiard" and a new trial. The European Tramdriver Championship (TRAM-EM) is recognized by public transport companies, a fact confirmed by the interest of the participants. The competition will be filmed with 12 cameras and can be watched live on the website www.tram.eu and on the TRAM-EM and OTL facebook pages in English and Romanian. In Piaţa Unirii, spectators will be able to purchase food truck products, there will be entertainment areas for children, stands with information about public transport in Oradea and a surprise concert from 20:00.
